The client is not in beta mode? Unless you are referring to versions below 1.12.2, they are more unstable and updated less often

Most likely. If the IRC can’t ping you within a certain threshold it will drop your connection

You have SmoothBoot which is a conflicting mod. There are most likely many more mods that also conflict here.

Use the installer and check the Forge box. It only appears on certain versions

You also need to copy .minecraft/libraries/EMC to <root path>/libraries/EMC

I checked for 1.20.1, it doesn't work either, but so far I've only checked it on the server.

Try closing the game and then deleting .minecraft/assets. I'm not quite sure why it happens, it seems to happen in rare cases when using fabric and other loaders

That method does not work on 1.16.5+. Instead you can use Freecam and ClickTP to click through the wall
