    • How to rename/hide the Aristois profile

      Although Aristois is already hidden from the f3 menu in-game, maybe you want to hide it in the launcher or versions folder also. You can also rename it to keep multiple of the same Aristois version. The best way to make it hidden is to mimic OptiFine, so that's what I will show in the instructions.

      Note: You cannot name a version to vanilla (for example, 1.16.5), because it will overwrite it. If you name it the same as another profile it will overwrite it also.

      1. Close the game and launcher, and go to .minecraft/versions.
      2. Locate the version you want to edit. Rename the folder to 1.16.5-OptiFine_HD_U_G7.
      3. Open the folder you just renamed. Inside is a .json and a .jar. Rename both of these also to 1.16.5-OptiFine_HD_U_G7.
      4. Open the .json file you renamed with a text editor like notepad. Edit the part that says "id": "1.16.5-Aristois", to "id": "1.16.5-OptiFine_HD_U_G7",. Don't forget to save.
      5. Now you should see "release 1.16.5-OptiFine_HD_U_G7" as an option in the launcher.

      It doesn't have to be OptiFine either. You can rename the profile to whatever you want, but the files must all have the same name.

      @walter-white In this case you would add all the "All the Mods" mods into the folder mentioned in the video

    • How do I use StructureFinder?

      StructureFinder is a mod in the Render category that allows you to easily locate strongholds, ocean monuments, woodland mansions, and buried treasure.

      To find strongholds: (also available as a video here)
      1. Throw one eye of ender.
      2. Walk/fly 100 - 500 blocks away from where you threw it, and throw a second eye.
      3. StructureFinder will now create a waypoint to the stronghold. Enable Waypoints and follow it.
      4. If you reach the waypoint and do not see a stronghold, it may be a little bit off. Throw another eye, and it will give a new location.
      5. Repeat this until you find the stronghold. It should only take 1 or 2 tries. I suggest enabling bookshelves on XRay to easily locate them.

      To find ocean monuments/woodland mansions:
      1. Trade with a cartographer to get an ocean explorer map/a woodland explorer map.
      2. With StructureFinder enabled, open the map.
      3. StructureFinder will then create a new waypoint to the structure. Enable Waypoints to locate.

      To find buried treasure:
      1. Locate a shipwreck.
      2. Get the buried treasure map from the map chest.
      3. With StructureFinder enabled, open the map.
      4. StructureFinder will then create a new waypoint to the buried treasure. Enable Waypoints to locate.

      Can it find end cities/another structure not listed here?
      - It currently only locates things that use maps, and strongholds.

    • RE: Change name of release/version.

      @didku Hi, I just made a FAQ post about this. See it here: https://discuss.aristois.net/topic/225/

      It sounds like you did the right steps, but double check. They must all be named the same thing, don't forget to save, and the game must be closed to update it.

      Does it not appear in the release tab or? You need to make a new installation

    • Is Aristois safe?

      Short answer:
      - Yes, Aristois is 100% safe to use, as long as you download it from our official website, and do not press anything on the adfly page.

      VirusTotal - https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/26622ed1d54eb45d9d0110fe5ef09a272890269837871c14d47edfd5f2c3ccd2/detection

      Longer answer:
      - Aristois files that come directly from our website are official and are guaranteed to be safe. We cannot guarantee that a download from a third-party website will be safe, especially if the file has been reuploaded. The Aristois-Free installer is a .zip file, and we do not use .exe. We encourage users to only download the mod from aristois.net/download, which will redirect to our GitLab.

      The only "real" threat that is uncontrollable by us is the content displayed on the adfly page. Unfortunately we do not control what is displayed on these pages. As long as you do not click on anything except for "Skip ad" you will be fine. Keep in mind that an infected webpage is not the same as a virus on your computer. Simply close the window and it will be gone. If you are having difficulties with the adfly, you can use the direct download link here.

      Our installer is a .jar file, because it is universal for most operating systems. It's common that some browsers, operating systems, and antivirus softwares give a warning to .jar files. If you were to try and install forge, optifine, or other similar mods, you will get the exact same error. This is just a standard warning, and doesn't mean the file is actually harmful.

      If you do not want to use the .jar installer, we have manual zip files available on the download page as well. They are simply a .json file.

      While Aristois itself is not open sourced, the framework, installer, marketplace, and many other parts are. You can see them here https://gitlab.com/Aristois and here https://gitlab.com/EMC-Framework.

      If you have any more questions about how safe Aristois is to use, please don't hesitate to DM me @dyiing or @deftware, or email us!

    • RE: Issue with adding my minecraft account

      @mxnding Do you mean that when you start the game your Minecraft account becomes the demo?

      I would try logging out and back into the launcher first. If that does not work, try deleting the directory .minecraft/libraries/me/deftware/EMC-F-v2/latest-(mc version).

    • Installing Aristois to 1.19 snapshots

      Disclaimer
      This post covers how to install Aristois to the new 1.19 snapshot versions. Please note that snapshots are highly experimental and bugs should not be reported. This guide is based off 22w15a. To check if your snapshot is supported, please look here: https://gitlab.com/EMC-Framework/maven/-/tree/master/me/deftware/EMC-F-v2

      Before following the instructions below, reinstall 1.18.2 Aristois to ensure that your files are not outdated.

      Video Tutorial
      This video tutorial covers the written instructions below (recorded for a 1.18 snapshot, but the process is exactly the same). Please refer to them while watching.

      Instructions
      1.. Navigate into your Minecraft directory, and enter the versions folder.
      2.. Duplicate your 1.18.2-Aristois folder and rename it to 22w15a-Aristois.
      3.. Go into the 22w15a-Aristois folder and rename 1.18.2-Aristois.json to 22w15a-Aristois.json. Also rename the .jar to 22w15a-Aristois.jar.
      4.. Open the 22w15a-Aristois.json file in your favourite text editor, we need to modify it a bit for it to work correctly.

      • First, remove the following text in the file:
      {
         "name": "me.deftware:aristois:loader",
         "url": "https://maven.aristois.net/"
      },

      • Then, change "me.deftware:EMC-F-v2:latest-1.18.2" to "me.deftware:EMC-F-v2:17.0.0-22w15a".
      • Finally, replace all instances of 1.18.2 with 22w15a. It should appear four times in the file.

      5.. After making the above modifications, save the json and go back to your Minecraft directory.

      6.. Go into the libraries/EMC/ folder and then duplicate the 1.18.2 folder. Rename the duplicate to 22w15a.

      7.. Now, start the launcher and create a new profile with the release "22w15a-Aristois" and start the game.

      If your game crashes
      If you crash when creating a world after following this, firstly ensure that your .json file is correctly set up. You can find an example of the 22w15a json here.

      Secondly, navigate to .minecraft/.fabric/remappedJars/ and delete the corresponding "minecraft-1.19-alpha" folder. Then start the game again and see if it works.

      If you need additional help, please feel free to contact us.

      @humanbeing It's from OptiFine, specifically shaders. If you want to leave the shaders on, change this setting (doesnt matter what you change it to, just change it):
      smooth lighting toggle

    • RE: How do I uninstall optifabric?

      @cataru You can't search for it there. And also that directory won't exist, because of latest-(version). You need to replace it with your mc version (for example, latest-1.16.5).

      Press win + r to open this menu, and then paste the following and press "OK":
      %appdata%/.minecraft/libraries/me/deftware/emc-f-v2/
