How do I update my Aristois version correctly?

How do I update my Aristois version correctly? Do need to install the new version on top of the old one, or do you need to uninstall the old version?

@woodcutter It should update automatically, if you are getting an error you can follow this post to solve it but that's about it.

@ehylo This means that the client updates itself every time the game starts. Why, then, is this warning needed? There is a "refresh" button.

@woodcutter It is more of an error not a warning, sometimes due to random reasons it fails and cannot auto-update, if you do the steps that will force it to update

Like Ehylo said, the error is not strictly limited to auto-updating to the latest build.
You will recieve this error if you use 1.16.5 Forge regardless of what you do. You may also recieve it on unofficial launchers or custom modloaders.
