It doesnt know where to install by itself (it wants to keep on installing to the normal minecraft folder instead of MMC (example: applications/multimc.app/data/instances/1.18)).
After you do install the patch it still only launches regular Minecraft. The fix i found to this is to add the EMC jar as a mod in MMC.
It's not possible to install to MultiMC on MacOS using the aristois installer, because MacOS treats MultiMC as an application and not as a folder. You must manually download some files for it to work. You can follow the instructions below:
Create a new instance for Aristois to run on. Do not install Fabric to the instance. Download this .zip file that contains all the required files: https://easyupload.io/fbt0xg Place the contents of this .zip directly into the instance folder (if done correctly, it should look like the image below)9f5f3bcd-4b5e-4ed0-b8a0-491d813325ae-image.png
Then, launch the instance making sure you use Java 17.
