      Re: 1.16.5 aristois optifine

I'm having trouble replacing the optifine version I want because when I follow the steps mentioned in the other topic thread it re-downloads optifine when I launch the game. Despite me putting the new version into the mods folder it deletes it and replaces it. Please help

Are you trying to uninstall OptiFine or?

I read your email and replied there with more details.

@dyiing i've been at this for a week and a bit now with no luck. I've tried different things like replacing the fabric mod with a newer version and so on but with no luck. I have tried your method of changing optifine in the email you sent me yet it still deletes the optifine.jar in the mods folder and either replaces it with the g7 version or just deletes altogether. I am not saying that the optifine version is the issue but have tried different methods to no avail, and I even tested to see if it was the optifine version was the issue by solely running optifine but it worked, just not with aristois.

I also completely reinstalled minecraft with a clean wipe deleting the .minecraft folder just to see if anything would change but did not unfortunately. I have researched the issues I'm having (water is see through, no hand held items visible, entities are invisible at certain angles, and the only thing that seems to be working is the shadows but that's about it) from past versions of minecraft and optifine to see if there was any coorelation and attempted their solutions but did not help. I also have tried tinkering with the shaders options and video settings but with no luck.

I was hoping that the new aristois version would have helped some (from the other day) but unfortunately not.

Again, the issue regarding invisible entities is not affected by which OptiFine version you use. You could change any settings, version, etc, and it's still going to occur. I do not know why it does, but it's not possible for you to fix it on your end, besides setting shaders to off/none.

OptiFine will not delete and replace itself so long as you're using custom OptiFabric, I have tested this out myself.
