essentials mod not working?

so im here trying to play minecraft with a friend using essentials on (1.19.2) yet i cant get the mod to work im using the forge api thing from the addon store

There's so much confusing here...
Essentials is a plugin. Are you referring to "ForgeEssentials"? Or Bssentials?
The addons marketplace is only for Fabric, not Forge
The marketplace has FabricAPI, which would imply you're not running forge, and ForgeEssentials is a Forge mod.
