I'm playing and then randomly the chat starts spamming people's messages from IRC. I just want it to disappear because some people be spamming nonsense.

You can also type into chat: .irc mute
but COMPLETELY DISABLE. not just mute. even with .irc disable, it will relaunch with the next instance
You should use .t IRC-Mute to disable it without it enabling after restarts.
