New Optifine Update Not Applying

I just opened minecraft 1.16.5 via the regular launcher. I reinstalled Optifine/+optifabric for Aristois and I'm still getting the message in game telling me that the new Ultra G7 version of Optifine is available. I'm still unable to update to it though. Any help is appreciated.

@dyiing Yeah, I did try updating from the add-ons section, and as we can see, no luck. I figured it was outdated. I've just downloaded and ran the latest optifine.jar file from the site and launched minecraft and it's still on G6 instead of G7. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here that I should know about?

@pud That's not how it would be updated. I think you'd need to grab a new optifabric and optifine jar (renamed) and place them accordingly. Not really worth it since it doesn't add anything new
G7 only adds a forge compatibility update which doesn't affect anything at all
