Autofish Has Been Broken for Years

Exactly what the title says. I've been using this client since like 2018 and the autofish feature has sucked since I started. Every once in a while it works for 5-10 minutes, but then it stops again. Doesn't even reel in fish. Other people talk about "theres too much delay or "it detects other people fishing" but I activate it, throw the fishing rod in and then watch it bob up and down, never catching a single fish. If people have suggestions other than something stupid that I've already tried like "turn off velocity/jesus" or "change the delay/detection range" or "stand closer" I'd love to hear it. Autofishing is super convenient and it genuinely pisses me off that Aristois has dropped the ball on it year after year for like 6 years now.

Every time that someone has mentioned AutoFish not working I have taken their settings and have never been able to reproduce an issue once. Respectfully we cannot "fix" something that is not broken for us. The issue is something specific to your setup, whether it be the settings, server, where you fish, and so on.
Feel free to record a video of you trying to use AutoFish as well as your config file (
.config export) and I can try to see how you can improve it -

Both myself and the developer have tested AutoFish at various settings and it works as intended. Other people have also had issues with AutoFish before, but it was because they had incorrect settings and it was resolved after tweaking them.
Fishing is something that also relies on the connection to the server you play on (or if the server has plugins that affect fishing).
If you wish to try and fix the issue, I would recommend that you go into a singleplayer world, reset the AutoFish settings using
.sand then send a video of what happens. With a video I am able to tell how you are using the mod and can potentially see why it isn't working.If it's something that can be fixed by fishing in a different way, it may be something that we can adjust in the mod to make it less sensitive to exactly how you fish
I also recommend sending the config file so that I can plug it into my machine and see if I can reproduce it not working
I understand that you're annoyed it does not work for you, but if we can't find an issue on our end we can't just release a fix, because the issue is unknown. The best way for us to find the solution is if you can help us provide information about it

@dyiing it hasnt worked in singleplayer, multiplayer, realms, or the server that I bought and am admin for in years. I've seen the other posts where the issue was settings. That's why my initial post mentions "velocity, jesus, etc" as well as the specific autofish settings. I've tried messing with every single setting. I've tried restarting the game, refreshing the server, making new singleplayer worlds, and this has been consistently broken for literal years. I've had to reinstall this client like 20 different times for all the random minecraft updates, and every single version couldn't get autofishing right. Like I remember when they changed fishing where you can't just use 1 block to fish, and it's been broken since before then. Like i mentioned earlier, very very rarely, it'll randomly work for a couple casts, but the second the rod breaks or I stop to eat or do anything, I come back and it's like it's never worked before. I went ahead and just installed a different autofish plugin and it's worked perfectly for hours straight. Left it running overnight and had 0 issues. The issue here is not me, or my settings. It's your client.

I don't understand what this means, AutoFish has not been changed significantly since then.
If it works perfectly on our end, and people who say it doesn't work will not help us look into the issue, what can we do about it? We need information about an issue in order to look into it.
I understand that you tried all of these different things, but if you don't cooperate with us when we ask for information about an issue, unfortunately we can't look into it

When I load up Aristois on three separate machines it works as intended on all three using the base settings.
Additionally, when a mod is flat out broken, we typically receive tons of users that contact us about it. The amount of people who have had issues with this mod is less than 10 people since 2018. I therefore believe that it's not an issue with the mod but a rare case.
It may not be directly related to the AutoFish settings you have changed, but other factors within your game. These factors are not always obvious or even related at all. That is why we need information from your specific machine to reproduce it, or we ask that you try various things to single out when it occurs
If you have another machine available, I would encourage you to install a fresh copy there and see if it makes a difference. Or a different launcher such as PrismMC.
