My game says that it can't find the optifine file in the mods folder even though it is definitely there

My game has the error message of "can't find optifine.jar in mods folder" and has the help button and mods button. I would either like to have this fixed to have optifine running, or just remove optifine from the client.
(Game version 1.17.1 btw)
