    • Donator Cape Toggle

      I'd really appreciate the ability to toggle the Aristois cape within the client, or at least select which cape I'd like to have visible when I have multiple. Currently it appears instead of actual MC capes, capes from Optifine, modded capes from stuff like Cloaks+, etc.

      I'm not sure if there's even a way to toggle donator capes on the website, but definitely think it's something the client needs. Especially since we went a very long time without capes even working.

    • RE: Optifine addon for 1.19.1/1.19.2

      @xander97

      Iris (a native fabric alternative to Optifine) is quite a good alternative. I've started using it over Optifine exclusively. It supports almost all the same shaders that Optifine does without any support libraries needing to be installed, and it runs about 3-4x better than Optifine could ever dream of. I easily get 120+ FPS at 32 chunks with Sildurs' Vibrant Extreme Volumetric Lighting shaders with Iris.

      There is a downside however, that Iris usually seems to cause a transparent entity glitch when run with Aristois. I have been able to fix the issue, but I can't honestly tell you how if you have it. I installed a few libraries for other client side mods and cleaned out all my MC installations and it seemed to have solved the issue for me.

      You can install it as a Fabric mod the same way you install other Fabric mods with Aristois. Navigate to .minecraft/libraries/me/deftware/EMC-F-v2, select your version and pop the .jar files in there.

      If you want to use an Optifine cape that you may have with Iris, there's a mod called 'Fabric Capes' (Edit: It used to be called Capes+ iirc, but seems to have been renamed.) that allows you to use it despite not running Optifine. It has a library dependency mod but I've had no conflicts yet.

      Good luck!

      @ale132x

      If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

      Aristois is not an all powerful injection accessing some game code and forcing it to run server-side. They can only do what's possible with the limited access the client has. You can't really ask for unrealistic requests like that and expect them to be fulfilled without any elaboration or thought. I promise if it was that simple, it would already be a thing.

      @neifion

      I don't think there's a way to fix this. I used to even have this issue with standalone Baritone installations in other Fabric modpacks/clients.

    • RE: how to turn off this?

      Aristois is not a ghost client. There are better alternatives that render the entire menu on a different layer and inject into vanilla clients instead. Aristois is essentially a Fabric mod-set, achieving a hacked client the same way Wurst did for Forge.

      Consider Vape Lite for servers where you're not supposed to be hacking but still want to attempt to. Aristois is more geared for anarchy and places where hacked clients are allowed. That's the official narrative at least. (Which is probably just for ToS/EULA reasons, since we have stuff like anti-bot..)

      @silviu I personally have no issues with pirating the game, but in that case I really don't think trying to get support for mods for your pirated copy is the best decision.

    • PrivateChat/ClientChat/Air Gap

      You're getting ready to mine some diamonds. You're feeling a little lazy, so you tell your favorite miner and personal savor Barry Tone to do it for you. Barry is always willing to help out.

      '[email protected] deepslate_diamond_ore'

      But Barry doesn't respond. Oh no. The server admins have teleported to you. You sent the message in public chat on accident. Stupid 't' key. It's always been sticky. Should have replaced it ages ago. Your life flashes before your eyes, you call your mother in a state of deep grief. Nobody answers. The server admins got to her first.

      This is the outcome we currently risk facing while typing both Aristois and Baritone commands into chat. But I ask you today... why? Why not have a client only chat that when opened, refuses to send whatever you type to the server? If it isn't a command, it doesn't go through, or it sends in to an alternate 'psuedo-chat' where it appears like normal, but instead has never been sent to the server. (Obviously rank tags, formatting, etc. would also be gone on servers/using mods with that sorta stuff.)

      You'd almost be fooled into thinking that's what pressing '.' does, with how it removes chat and autocompletes commands. But if you accidentally backspace, you may have an embarrassing explanation in your future.

      So anyways yeah, I've never made this mistake in a way that mattered but I'm a little afraid typing Baritone commands, so I'd really like something like this. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. (TedX)

    • InvSee Cache | InvHistory

      InvSee. A great idea. What a shame that the client never gets inventory data for other players...

      But, there are some alternative ways to identify inventory items of other players. Or at least simulating something to this effect to assist with identifying who picked up items, what enchantments someone's tools have when they're scrolling through their hotbar, etc.

      What if there was an option for InvSee to cache items that the player holds/equips as 'inside their inventory'/hotbar. It might not build a perfect recreation of the order of their items and such, but it would allow you to keep tabs on what people bring out and equip without having to memorize it all. Of course when players leave your render distance, relog, you relog, etc. the cache would be reset since it could change. There are more intensive ways to accomplish more effective improvements, but these were simple to execute ideas I had. (Perhaps an option you could toggle for each different way the cache might be reset.)

      Alternatively, there could be an InvHistory that accomplishes this and has the option to NEVER be cleared and display under a different UI, saving inventory history files for each playername.

    • AutoElytra | QuickElytra/ElytraSwap

      Multiple ideas came to me after having accidentally jumped to my doom in the Nether last night forgetting to equip my elytra. Here's a few of them:

      AutoElytra: After falling for longer than a configurable amount of blocks, an elytra in your inventory is automatically equipped/swapped with your chestplate. Might save your life (and your stuff) from a fiery demise.

      QuickElytra/ElytraSwap: Programmable hotkey that will switch your elytra with your chestplate/empty chest slot immediately, toggling between the two when pressing the hotkey. Good for quickly escaping combat or entering combat from an aerial flank. Could have an alternative mode (or they could be two separate things) that automatically equips the best chestplate in your inventory upon taking damage from a player/mobs' (configurable) melee(?) (configurable?) attack to prevent ambushes while wearing an elytra.

      These were just some basic ideas I had. Feel free to contribute your thoughts.

    • Client-Side NightVision (Not Fullbright!)

      Currently Aristois supports 'FullBright', which changes your gamma to 1500 (or some other insanely higher number) in the config json. This is absolutely wonderful. Until you use shaders. Then FullBright isn't going to do anything to help you. But there is a solution!

      Client-side night-vision is available through other mods like Gamma Utils, and essentially applies the night-vision effect already in Minecraft (AFAIK, maybe it works differently to emulate vanilla nv client-side, unsure.) to you as if you had used a night-vision potion. This has full compatibility with shaders, and allows you to see without having to toggle them on and off while mining.

      I could easily see this going under the expanded context menu for FullBright as an alternative method/mode. I understand that it can already be accomplished with Fabric mods like Gamma Utils, but I don't want to have more mods than I already have to maintain with each version, and I can't imagine it's the most difficult feature to add.
