PrivateChat/ClientChat/Air Gap

You're getting ready to mine some diamonds. You're feeling a little lazy, so you tell your favorite miner and personal savor Barry Tone to do it for you. Barry is always willing to help out.

But Barry doesn't respond. Oh no. The server admins have teleported to you. You sent the message in public chat on accident. Stupid 't' key. It's always been sticky. Should have replaced it ages ago. Your life flashes before your eyes, you call your mother in a state of deep grief. Nobody answers. The server admins got to her first.
This is the outcome we currently risk facing while typing both Aristois and Baritone commands into chat. But I ask you today... why? Why not have a client only chat that when opened, refuses to send whatever you type to the server? If it isn't a command, it doesn't go through, or it sends in to an alternate 'psuedo-chat' where it appears like normal, but instead has never been sent to the server. (Obviously rank tags, formatting, etc. would also be gone on servers/using mods with that sorta stuff.)
You'd almost be fooled into thinking that's what pressing '.' does, with how it removes chat and autocompletes commands. But if you accidentally backspace, you may have an embarrassing explanation in your future.
So anyways yeah, I've never made this mistake in a way that mattered but I'm a little afraid typing Baritone commands, so I'd really like something like this. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. (TedX)
